25, male, weight lifter. The client came in to the clinic today with (P) in the (R) shoulder. The client said that he hurt it in the gym 1/7 days ago when performing a high weight shoulder push with the Olympic bar. The pain is aggregated when lifting arm and any lifting of weights, but the client did not know of any easing factors. The client had limited ROM in flexion the shoulder and experienced pain in this movement. The client tested positive in the full and closed can test and this suggests that the client could have a shoulder impingement.

Treatment given was a sports massage concentrating the rotatory cuff muscles and the deltoid. Rehab exercise was shown to the client to strengthen up the rotator cuff muscles and a follow up appoint has been booked in 3 days’ time.
