Barton the ex-Bristol Rovers manager has responded to Scott’s reply defending female pundits that work in the men’s game, Barton’s insisted that Scott doesn’t “have a clue” and attack her personal football career.

While speaking on the BBCs coverage of the Women’s Football League fixture between Chelsea and Arsenal on Sunday the 10th of December, Scott sent a message out to Women by saying “football is a better place with us all in it” outwardly hitting back at Barton’s sexist comments.

Barton claimed that women should not comment on men’s football because “they haven’t played it”. These remarks have caused a disturbance across all social media platforms. With TNT sports presenter Laura Woods tweeting “these tweets only encourage a pile on for the women getting on with their jobs”

The England and Arsenal women’s ex-footballer took the opportunity to deliver a touching closing speech and encourage women to continue acting as role models. “just before we say goodbye, to all the women in football, in front of the camera, behind it, the players on the pitch, to everyone that attends games, keep being the role models that you continue to be,” she said.
