This session in the clinic began with an online triage for a client with complaints of low back pain and right shoulder P. the client experienced P in the anterior shoulder which was aggravated by swimming. The low back pain was described as a dull ache with some shooting P. the client was then booked for a face to face appointment where full objective assessment will be completed and exercise prescription to help increase the strength in the shoulder and decrease P.

The next 2 hours of this session was based within the open clinic for 1st and 2nd years to achieve their clinical hours, using clinical experience this session was based around helping these other students to increase their knowledge of assessment in the clinic and how to use cliniko. This included note taking skills, initial assessment and how cliniko and the clinic is ran. A client was also treated and 2 1st year students shadowed this. The client had complaints of LBP and trapezius P. treatment provided was for STM at the traps, the client felt a decrease in P after the treatment however was booked for a follow up appointment for some strengthening and core exercises.

The next appointment was an online triage for a client with P in the calf and shin. The onset was from running which they have now stopped and hopes to return to running for a 10k marathon. The clinical impression of this was medial tibial stress syndrome and weakness in gastrocnemius/soleus.

The final client was for a client complaining of sciatic P. This P can increase after sitting for long periods. After objective assessment the client did not have any P in the lower back and no P after PA to the Lx. On palpation here was some POP at the glutes and hamstring. Treatment provided was STM at the glute and hamstrings. Exercises were prescribed for book under then bum, knee hugs with oscillations, figure 4 stretch and towel stretch.
