Christmas dinner might not be the same this year for some households, due to a pigs in blankets shortage, that is sweeping the nation.
It is reported that, The British Meat Processors Association (BMPA); in which that represents the meat processing industry, has warned that the highly loved Christmas treat could be off the menu, due to strikes by Government vets. The delicious snack is much loved by Brits across the country, so to lose out this year will be a huge blow to the annual festive meal.
The first Recipes for the delicacy appeared in 1957, but the dish was not popularized till the 1990’s by Delia Smith, who included a recipe in her cookbook.
On the bright side, look out for April 24th, 2024, as that is known as the official Pigs in Blankets Day!
