Client was seen for a follow up appointment for left shoulder pain which had previously radiated down the arm.

Objective assessment was completed in shoulder fl, abd, add, IR, ER and there was no pain however was some pain in abd at 90 degrees. The client no longer experiences radiating pain down the arm.

Soft tissue massage was applied to the left shoulder and traps with some trigger pointing applied, pain and tightness had decreased since previous appointment.

METs applied at the left side of neck and trapezius, PIR applied at the left side also. Client was also given stretch for neck whilst at work.

 

Client had complaints of left anterior shoulder pain.

During objective assessment there was a limitation in abd at 90-120 degrees and some pain. There was also some pain in flexion. ER was incredibly limited and caused some pain. Symptoms were the same in passive and resisted movements.

Clinical impression was a shoulder impingement of the supraspinatus and DDx of adhesive capsulitis.

Exercises were provided for active assisted shoulder movements and banded flexion, abd and ER for strengthening of the rotator cuff muscles.
