26/03/2021- 2 hours

Today I had a client booked in for 10am, I used half an hour before the appointment to plan my questions of what I needed to ask.

During the online virtual appointment, we had a few technical difficulties- causing my patient to ‘glitch’ so had to make sure I repeated what the patient had said in order to not miss anything out. This appointment was a little difficult in comparison to previous appointments due to the technical difficulties and couldn’t finish the appointment properly. Because we were working from home, my supervisor joined in on the video call and finished the appointment via a phone call with my client. After finalising what the client had said, myself and my supervisor stayed on the video call to discuss the symptoms of which my client was having and to create a plan of what we can do to help this client.

What went well-

Throughout the appointment I stayed attentive throughout and stayed professional. I felt slightly more confident compared to previous appointments due to having my layout and plan in front of me.

What could have gone better-

If I was able to ask all of my questions I could have found out a little bit more information from my client instead of having to finish this appointment in the next booked appointment. This will take away some time in the next appointment with this client next time, however there isn’t a lot I could have done to prevent the technical difficulties.

Next time-

I need to have more knowledge on differential diagnosis for calf pain and hip pain. I have been sent this podcast to listen to to help with my plan for the next appointment in the next couple of days.

Overall I found that this appointment went as well as it could, with a few limitations, however everything I missed out in this virtual appointment can be added during the face-to-face appointment next week.
