Reflection: 10/5/2021                             hours: 6

What happened:

Today I was in the Marjon Sports Clinic all day. I had the same patient who I have been seeing for a few weeks with osteoarthritis in both hips and we used the anti-gravity treadmill to focus on normalising her gait which has become altered due to the pain and using crutches. The rest of the session was spent doing group discussions on various pathologies to discuss ideas and develop critical discussion.

What I was thinking and feeling and what was good or bad:

This was the first time I had used the anti-gravity treadmill, so I was really excited to incorporate it into a patient’s rehabilitation. I had the help from two Masters’ students when setting it up which helped.

I feel like I learnt a lot and it was nice to have group discussions after missing out on this a lot this year.

What else I could have done/areas for improvement:

Next time set up the anti-gravity treadmill alone to get used to how to set it up without help.

 Action plan:

Research more ways of incorporating this equipment into rehabilitation.
