What happened during the session:

During this session, I massaged a client who was suffering from DOMS after training legs in the gym the previous day. I massaged the client’s hamstrings as they were causing them pain however, working mostly on the adductors as they were causing the majority of the pain. Due to the pain only beginning one day ago and the muscles being tender and sore, I only used effleurage and petrissage as I did not want to increase the pain by applying tapotement techniques, therefore, relieving pain, muscle tension and help improve the circulation of blood in the area allowing waste products to be removed and their muscles to be more relaxed.
I then proceed to perform an MOT on my client using the straight leg raise to help to stretch out the hamstring muscles. I got the client to lift their leg straight up with the knee in extension as far as they can then the push against me at approximately 30-40% of their maximal strength for 10 seconds resting for 5 in between repeating this process 3 times pushing the leg to a new bind(top range) each time.

Areas for improvement:

Timekeeping:
To ensure that my time keeping is not hindered by the client not arriving on time I should ensure to allow extra time for each client in between session in case clients are late or they happen to run over. This is because during this session the client happened to turn up late and I only had 15 minutes in between seeing them and seeing another client and all this extra time was used up with the first client that made me late for the second client. If I allow an extra 15 minutes so I have 30 minutes in between clients that will allow me to run over on sessions and for clients to arrive late. I can use any remanding time that is not used in between session to complete forms that are needed to be filled out allowing me to use this time wisely.
