Radial Pressure Wave Therapy in the use of Treating Musculoskeletal Disorders-5hrs

Radial Pressure Wave Therapy in the use of Treating Musculoskeletal Disorders-5 hours

For this session I performed a course and gained not only knowledge and understanding of the machine and the injuries associated with the use of this treatment but also a certificate in the use of radial pressure wave therapy which is a device we use at Albion therapy and rehabilitation.

Certificate

This course went on to state state the different frequencies and uses of radial pressure the use of compressed air to apply the treatment and the different transmitters that can be applied for different treatments for example:

  • F15 White transmitter’s are used for muscles of mastication.
  • D-Actor transmitters are used for Myofascial treatment
  • V-actor Transmitters are used for wellness massages
  • A6 point transmitters are used for Acupuncture and trigger points.

I also learnt about how to apply the different heads with the pressure, frequency and location to target trigger points and other uses of the radial pressure wave therapy these injuries included:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Greater Trochanteric pain
  • Patellar tendinopathy
  • Iliotibial band syndrome
  • Pes Anserinus Tendinopathy
  • Medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints)
  • Calf Hypertonicity
  • Proximal hamstring tendinopathy
  • Lumbago- Facet/SI joints
  • Cervicalgia-Trigger points and myofascial pain
  • Infraspinatus tendinopathy
  • Lateral Epicondylitis elbow

Throughout this course, there were videos showing how to apply this into practical application and different ways of treating each injury with different transmitters and this actually proved very useful to see the machine and treatment in action.
