During this session, I spent 1 hour in the training clinic massaging the legs of one of the players, I started with massaging the calves using effleurage and petrissage moving on to tapotement working deeper into the muscles using techniques such as wringing, hacking, cupping, beating and pounding. I then moved on to the hamstrings of the same player working the same way and using the same techniques before moving on to the quadriceps group once again using the same techniques to work deep into the muscle fibers. Finally, I finished the session by doing MET stretching of all the muscle areas massaged starting with PIR of the calves and the quadriceps before turning the player over and doing PIR of the hamstrings using the SLR.
The reason for this session was that the client has been training for a marathon so increasing the frequency and intensity of their training outside of the club as well as club training the muscles just needed maintenance, as the official training session had been canceled this evening but the training clinic was still open to anyone that wanted to come down for treatment this allowed me to work longer and deeper into the muscles.

Areas for improvement:

Although I have not done a massage for maintenance in a while and have been specifically doing pre-game and pre-training superficial massages I don’t feel as though I had any improvements fo this session, I was confident in myself and in my ability to provide the correct treatment during this session.
