17/12/2020-Albion Training- 4hrs

For the first hour of the session, we commended our covid checks, cleaning all equipment and our hands in between each person tested wearing full PPE to ensure no cross contamination occurs and all covid procedures are followed. The players then headed into the treatment room to get treatment before they went into the gym. In the treatment room I provided the same treatment as the previous session I did taping of a player’s ankle and I also completed a massage however this was of the hamstrings rather than the back.

The players went into the gym and completed their pre-training gym session as usual in their same groups as previous weeks and worked in their own personalised plans working on their own individual weaknesses.

After the gym session we progressed onto the pitch side portion of the session where we started a more intense training session in preparation for the NCA cup which is due to start in January 2021. This will allow players to compete and play games giving them a purpose to train however, the game will be adapted so there are no scrums or mauls and players only playing local teams rather than traveling across the country to play.

Update 15/03/2021:

Unbeknownst to us this was our last session for the foreseeable future due to the third lockdown since the start of March 2020 and therefore the NCA cup did not commence in January and all sport across England was postponed and still is to this date. We are awaiting a start date to hopefully get back to rugby during April 2021.
