Internationally accredited diploma in sports nutrition:

This course included 3.5 hours of on demand video lectures to complete at your own pace as part of the course.

within the course, the modules covered included:

  • Understanding and knowledge of sports nutrition with emphasis of Macro and micronutrient needs of athletes.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Energy systems and Energy requirement of athletes.
  • Ways in which to calculate BMR and TDEE
  • Knowledge and understanding of sports supplementation for help athletes maximise their performance and optimise recovery rate.
  • Skills and knowledge to independently create a nutritionally balanced diet for athletes and clients.

This course helped me to understand different energy systems and the requirements of athletes working at different levels of activity due to energy expenditure, macro and micro nutrients and also allowed to me asses foods and supplements critically to create a diet plan specific for the athletes needs.

This course broke down the information needed and used case studies to help increase absorption of information through practically applying them to clients.

This really helped as it allowed me to know what supplements will help increase recovery during rehabilitation which can be used for my university degree.

Future progression:

As we progress as the human race we become more scientifically aware of uses of food and how the body works to fuel activity, for future use it will be important to update this course to keep up to date with current scientifically enhanced developments.
