During the first hour of this session, we continued with the usual covid checks to ensure all players, coaching staff and medical staff are safe to continue in the training session helping to reduce the spread of covid 19 at these times. After the covid checks had been completed, we continued with meetings to ensure all players coaching staff and medical staff are aware of the protocols of training moving forwards after our second lockdown of the year to ensure the safety of one another. After having a meeting about the health and safety of the club we continued down to the treatment room to provide any pre-training treatments and rehabilitation programmes that the players require pre-training.

During the second hour, any players doing rehab programmes were taken to the gym or stayed in the treatment room depending on the stage of rehab they were at and the rest of the team went to the  gym to participate in the gym session planed by the head coach to ensure players are building strength as well as cardio and skills. This session is supervised by the medical team as there are many risks associated with this session as players may exceed their abilities due to the competitive nature of the team, however, this session was organised in a way that players can progress and regress the exercises based on their abilities and were also paired with people of similar body compositions as themselves, so they were not put under too much pressure to compete with others.

For the final part of the training session, we continued onto the training field where the team commenced anaerobic games, passing drills and getting back to basics with skills, drills and techniques to try and kickstart the training ready for the season ahead adapting to the new rules of the game to focus on keeping covid safe.

This session went well, it allowed me to see different aspects of training sessions and the way the players work when the game has been adapted. However, I do feel as though I could have been more involved with, the rehab of the players in the gym while supervising others exercising as it allows me to learn more and progress within a rehab setting however, one of the other therapists were leading the rehab session so I had to continue over seeing other activities in the gym to ensure the safety of all players in there training.
