10/12/19-Argaum Placement- Training Clinic- 1hr

During this session, I only had one player visit during the hour I was at the training clinic. This player was complaining of groin pain, an aching pain which increased when stretched but felt better afterward. This suggested to me that it was muscular. In this area, there are multiple different muscles that could be causing an issue such as the pectineus group, the Gracilis, sartorius, adductor Longus, Magnus or Brevis, and more. Therefore it was important to go through Active, passive and resisted range of motion. The movement that had the most pain was Adduction which could be various muscles but mostly the adductor group, Gracilis and pectineus muscles. For the treatment of this issue, I provided a massage of the entire thigh including the anterior and posterior aspects, making sure to include transverse treatments such as wrapping, wringing and transverse palmer kneading to the adductor group as well as providing a variety of different stretches the player can be doing during pre-event clinics as well as at home in their own time.

Areas for improvement:

Although my anatomy is not perfect I feel I had a great knowledge of this area and therefore, this specific treatment session had no improvements however had the injury been elsewhere, my confidence in my own knowledge would have been tested and therefore I will try my best to keep up to date with all the anatomy of the human body I can going over revision cards and class notes where possible.
