This session took place in the Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation clinic.

Within this session the player was complaining of lack of range of movement in their hip whilst playing, describing the feelings as ‘still’ and ‘unable to move’. Following the subjective and objective assessment, it seemed that the players problem was muscle tightness. So, I did soft tissue release on the athlete’s glutes, and post isometric relaxation on hip flexors and extensors. This player was the tallest player I had ever worked with, and getting into the correct positions to utilise my body weight was difficult at first, however by the end was more fluent. I feel confident that next time working with this player, or another player of this size, I will take less time conducting the stretches and my body positioning will come a lot quicker.
